If you have the EF 24-105 II and are potentially interested in an RF 24-70F2.8, I would suggest just using the EF on the R for a while. Improvement in IQ by moving to the RF is there, but I think you will find that it is more incremental than game-changing; functionally, EF lenses work perfectly on the R, especially if you invest in the control ring adapter. In terms of image quality, the RF 24-105 F4 L is arguably the best zoom available with this zoom range. The Sony 24-105 F4 is close and may be better in some respects. The Nikon F-mount equivalent is not close though there is a Z-mount 24-105 on Nikon's roadmap that is likely to be very good when it is eventually released. Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens.
